Philosophy
At XtrAct we strive to seek out Drama teachers who not only have experience in the performing arts industry, but also have teacher training from a tertiary institution. Drama is a tool for students beyond acting skills and ensuring our teachers are equipped to facilitate lessons with this in mind is imperative. To create more resilient actors, and adults, we must move beyond acting and teach the whole child. Class Size

Term Structure
Term One: 3rd February - 31st March
Introduction to the fundamentals of theatrical storytelling and character development through a radio play script work and drama games. Term Two: 5th May - 30th June Skill building and Rehearsal of a prepared script for our Major Performance: The Voice in the Box. Term Three: 28th July - 22nd September Skill building and Rehearsal of a prepared script for our Major Performance: The Voice in the Box. This term will also include develop skills in choral voice and movement, and simple choreography. Term Four: 12th October - 12th December Students prepare and perform a pantomime. |

Term One Radio Play In Class Performance during final lesson. Term Three Major Performance 'The Voice in the Box' 20th September, The Art House, Wyong End of Year Performance Christmas Pantomime 12th December, Location TBC RehearsalsNaturally students will be given time to rehearse their play in class each week. However, to ensure they are confident with their parts and are able to enjoy the performance experience, parents and guardians are asked to find some time during the week to help them go over their lines and stage directions. We recommend students rehearse a section of their script for no more than 5 - 10 minutes a day if they are practicing it everyday OR 30 minutes twice a week outside of class..
