Acting Philosophy

Tutor Danielle Brame Whiting's philosophy is that performers should be exposed to multiple methodologies in order to find the processes that best help them connect with their craft (ie. different things work for different people).  At the heart of her own performing techniques are the processes and philosophies of Michael Chekhov and Konstantin Stanislavski.

The Whole Actor

It is an important part of the XtrAct Drama Academy approach that we look at training the whole person and not simply imparting information about acting techniques. After all, the best actors have empathic hearts and a strength to share their creativity. So our motto of encouraging and developing confidence, community, creativity, communication and curiosity prevails just as strongly here as in all of our younger classes.
